Big cat and phantom panther sightings map
Reports of large cats, often described as black panthers or mystery cats, in places where no such animal is known to live wild. Some reports may be misidentified known animals or escaped pets; they are listed as reported.
Other names in the sources: Phantom panther, Black panther sighting, Phantom cat, Mystery big cat.
Background reading on Wikipedia: British big cats.
We map claims, not creatures. A case is what some source says someone saw or heard, with the link to that source. It is not proof that anything was there, and a retelling counts once, not as a second sighting.
